Re: Accreditation Update

I am excited to share with you that Lexington Two received word Friday from SC Education Superintendent Ellen Weaver that our accreditation status has been returned to the highest level, effective with this current 2022-2023 school year.

Brookland-Cayce High School’s Accredited/All Clear status comes earlier than expected, several months ahead of the end of the school year.  This is a testament and affirmation of the work we have been focusing on across the District – from our middle and high school counselors, to our school-level educators and administrators – to keep the focus on a quality education for all of our students.

Superintendent Weaver said the Department “appreciates the District’s efforts and cooperation” in addressing issues identified in a transcript audit “and recognizes the District has made significant progress in resolving these matters,” according to her letter, dated February 3, 2023. The District, too,  appreciates the guidance and support of the SC Department of Education, which helped us further strengthen our processes to better serve our Lexington Two students.

Our teachers at Brookland Cayce High School, and at all of our schools, have worked hard to ensure that our students have always and will continue to receive a quality education that prepares them to be college or career ready, workforce ready, or military bound, knowing that our ultimate goal is that they return to be productive citizens in a community that is rich in tradition and history.

I am honored to work within a community that is passionate about its schools, its students, and its educators. Thank you for your continued support of Lexington Two.

Sincerely,

Brenda Hafner, Ed.D.
