Longtime educator inducted into Hall of Fame

WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- The newest member of the Brookland-Cayce High School Educator Hall of Fame was inducted during a recent ceremony.

Barbara Jeter Jeffcoat was honored at the annual gala February 7 at Seawell’s at the S.C. State Fairgrounds in Columbia.

Jeffcoat joined Brookland-Cayce High in 1973 as an energetic special needs resource teacher. Two years later, she brought that same energy to the Guidance Department, where she would serve as a counselor and director until her retirement in 2002. Jeffcoat today lives in West Columbia with her husband, Steve.

The event was presented by the Brookland-Cayce High School Foundation, which supports the school’s students through scholarships and other activities.
