What is Virtual SC - Virtual SC is a free state-sponsored online program serving students currently attending public, private and home schools in grades 6-12 and Adult Education Programs. Students can take extra courses during the school year or during the summer in addition to the courses they are taking at their home school.
 
How do I take a Virtual SC Classes?
1.) Create an account on Virtual SC
3.) Talk to your counselor about which classes you would like to take.
4.) Register for a course on the Virtual SC website
 
Important Information to Note:
1.) Students should discuss the classes they hope to take with their school counselor to ensure they have met all necessary prerequisites. 
 
2.) Virtual SC Classes can fill up fast each semester. In order to have the best chance of registering, students should register as early as possible once course registration begins.
 
3.) Students taking PE with Virtual SC must also take Personal Health in order to fulfill their SC high school graduation requirement. 
 
 
Types of Classes Offered:

 

  • Credit Recovery - students can take credit recovery classes if they have failed the class with a final grade between 51-59%. These classes are a bit shorter to complete. However, they do not impact a student's GPA.
  • Initial Credit - This is a full class that students can take if their final grade in a class was 50% or lower, or if this is the first time they are taking a class.
